ROME -- David Allio has been selected by Lycos, Italy, as one of the top four modern erotic artists/photographers in the world. This November, 1999, selection was based on portfolio images of various nude figure models.

"This is an exciting and wonderful international recognition of my nude figure and portrait artworks," Allio, a professional photographic artist from the United States said. "If there is irony in this modern artist honor, it comes from the fact that most of my artistic influences - especially when artistic nudity is involved - are from classic historic artworks and artists from centuries past."

According to Tatiana Tartuferi, Editor, Lycos Bertelsmann, "Allio's work represents a great mix of traditional influences in modern artistic techniques."

The first artwork selected for exhibition by Lycos, Italy, was created in a studio on color negative film using a Minolta camera and lens. Then, the image was digitally enhanced. The subject was an amateur nude figure model from the United States.

David Allio was born in 1955 in the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Communications and Visual Arts. His fine artworks of nude subjects have been exhibited worldwide.
