for immediate release - July 1, 2001 Impressionist Sketches of Ginger Artwork ExhibitionATLANTA -- Traditional art instruction, even in the Impressionist style, taught that a nude figure study or sketch was the first step in the development of a painting. These studies, in pencil, chalk or charcoal, allowed the artist to accurately represent the human form in size, shape and volume before painting. In a reverse of that traditional process, these portraits of Ginger began as conventional color photographs. Through creative digital de-evolution they were reduced to sketches of the original figure and form. "These portraits, even though they are basic black-and-white images, reflect the powerful character and style of the model," Allio said. "In many ways, these figure studies are stronger than the original photographs." Ginger Lewis is a professional nude figure model. She works in Macon, Georgia, where she resides with her husband and two children. David Allio was born in 1955 in the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Communications and Visual Arts. His nude fine artworks have been exhibited worldwide. - 01DA0701.HTM | July 1, 2001 - | MainMenu | - | Press Information Index | Contact | www.DavidAllio.com | © 2001-2009 David Allio - All Rights Reserved |
