Modern Realist Portraits Digital Art Exhibition

The Modern Realist movement was a prominent American and British artistic style in the late 20th Century. Influenced by consumerism, the images of this period are colorful and glamourous.

"These portraits were intended to be bold and colorful," Allio said. "Several began as black-and-white photographs and were digitally hand-colored for effect. The resulting artworks are far more modern in style than those of my traditional Impressionist period works."

As a common theme, each original image was selected and the finished artwork was named for a mythological goddess. The individual names were based on unique personal characteristics of the model.

Ten different models were selected for this exhibition. Each projected their own personal sense of fun, style and glamour into their finished artwork.
