Kahili ginger Hedychium gardnerianum is an ornamental plant that escaped cultivation and has become one of the worst invasive species in Hawaii’s forests. It is also recognized as one of the "world’s 100 worst invasive alien species" by the IUCN Invasive Species Specialist Group (ISSG).1

A prolific burst of Winter jasmine Jasminum nudiflorum glows yellow in January. The ornamental vine is native to Northern China and blooms mid-Winter in the Northern Hemisphere.1
