The Cumberland Azalea Rhododendron cumberlandense is found in a limited geographic area within the Appalachian Mountains. Locally called an Orange Honeysuckle, the shrub blooms in May at higher elevations.

Jack in the pulpit or Indian turnip Arisaema triphyllum is a perennial herb of the Araceae family. It typically blooms in March, April, and July in rich woods and bogs throughout most of Eastern North America. According to the USDA web site, Arisaema triphyllum is not currently considered threatened, vulnerable, or endangered.
