Indiana Corn – Americana Collection
Since Indiana’s early history, agriculture has played an important role in the state’s economic development and cultural identity. Indiana is home to more than 60,000 farms covering over 19 million acres. The average farm size in Indiana is 245 acres. A variety of crop and livestock categories are ranked in the top five nationally including corn. In a typical year, almost half of the cropland in Indiana is corn. Much of the corn grown in Indiana is used to feed pigs, cows, and chickens. Indiana produces a wide variety of corn, including more than 20 percent of the United States’ popcorn supply.1

Indiana Corn – Americana Collection
Researchers at the University of Illinois estimate that a farmer growing crops on rented land in northern Illinois will lose $64 an acre of corn next year, versus $95 an acre of soybeans. It is the first time since 2013 that corn is projected to be a better economic proposition than soybeans, according to the researchers. Many farmers and agricultural officials said final crop choices might not be made until just weeks or days before planting gets under way, partly because of uncertainty over tariffs.1

Veteran’s Day Parade – Americana Collection
2018 November 12 | Monday: The people of Monticello, Florida, celebrate their neighbors, family, and community with a parade on Veteran’s Day to honor those who served in the United States Armed Services. It is one of three annual parades in the seat of Jefferson County government.
Monticello is prototypical small-town American South where the Pledge and Flag are zealously and flagrantly co-mingled with Church and State as fundamentals of their Nation. Beguiled by their romantic illusions of the Flag, these citizens fiercely embrace national symbols embodying colonialism and imperialism in the chimera of patriotism.
Equating the machinery of war with parades is a failure to comprehend that veterans are people – genuine and authentic, flesh and blood. Veterans know personal sacrifice. #NeverForget
