It is one of three annual parades in the seat of Jefferson County government.<\/p>\n<p>Monticello is prototypical small-town American South where the Pledge and Flag are zealously and flagrantly co-mingled with Church and State as fundamentals of their Nation.  Beguiled by their romantic illusions of the Flag, these citizens fiercely embrace national symbols embodying colonialism and imperialism in the chimera of patriotism.<\/p>\n<p>Equating the machinery of war with parades is a failure to comprehend that veterans are people \u2013 genuine and authentic, flesh and blood.
