Common Gallinule – St Marks National Wildlife Reserve Florida

An adult Common Gallinule Gallinula galeata leans in toward three chicks on Headquarters Pond in St Marks National Wildlife Reserve in St Marks, Florida. According to the North American Breeding Bird Survey populations of Common Gallinules declined by nearly 1.5% per year or a cumulative decline of 52% between 1966 and 2015.1
