Landscapes are a frequently photographed genre, yet they are an incredibly difficult and challenging subject to successfully develop into a compelling and fulfilling site representation. Elements of design suggest that successful landscapes should convey information regarding balance, harmony, variety, scale, proportion, movement, rhythm, economy, dominance, sub-ordinance, texture, color, line, space, value, shape, and form. Organic photography demands that these elements must be addressed through selective composition and exposure calculation of a fixed, but never static, site.
