Falling Spring Falls is an 80-foot drop of Falling Spring Creek in the Alleghany Highlands. Between 1927 and 1941 mining operations caused the relocation of the original 200-foot falls documented by Thomas Jefferson as "remarkable cascades" in his 1781 survey manuscript Notes on the State of Virginia.
