Vermilion Flycatcher – Americana Collection

My experience has been that most birds in the wild are skittish. This non-breeding male Vermilion Flycatcher Pyrocephalus rubinus seemed to be curious about my presence in it’s space near the East River Pool at Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge on the Florida Gulf Coast. If my camera had been on a tripod instead of a monopod the distinctively colored bird probably would have landed on the lens.
